French translation of correlation
German translation of correlation
Spanish translation of correlation

  • autocorrelation: the correlation(relationship)between members of a time series of observations, such as weekly share prices or interest rates, and the same values at a fixed time interval later
    Category: Statistics

  • autocorrelation: the correlation of a waveform with itself
    Category: Electrical engineering and energy

  • autocorrelation: a process by which weak periodic signals may be detected in the presence of random noise
Category: Automation (includes telecommunications and computers)

  • correlation: the linear association between two random variables X and Y. It is usually measured by a correlation coefficient, such as Pearson`s r, such that the value of the coefficient ranges from-1 to 1.A positive value of r means that the association is positive; i.e. ,that if X increases, the value of Y tends to increase linearly, and if X decreases, the value of Y tends to decrease linearly. A negative value of r means that the association is negative; i.e. ,that if X increases, the value of Y tends to decrease linearly, and if X decreases, the value of Y tends to increase linearly. The larger r is in absolute value, the stronger the linear association between X and Y. If r is 0,X and Y are said to be uncorrelated, with no linear association between X and Y. Independent variables are always uncorrelated, but uncorrelated variables need not be independent
    Category: Statistics

  • correlation: in air defence, the determination that an aircraft appearing on a radarscope,on a plotting board,or visually is the same as that on which information is being received from another source
    Category: Defense

  • intercorrelation: a term used to denote the correlation of a number of variates among themselves,as distinct from the correlations between them and an 'outside' or dependent variate
    Category: Mathematics

  • intercorrelation: a matrix(table)showing the matrix pairwise correlations between all variables
    Category: Statistics
